Or maybe the fact that young Brits are leaving the UK in droves cos of the poor quality of life here?

Or the fact that Starmer managed to achieve a deal with the French that the Tories were never able to do?

Or do we think that’s not what they plan to cover in their “immigration special”🤷🏼‍♀️🙄

Maybe the fact that immigration figures are way down and pretty much back to pre-pandemic levels?

Or the fact that we’ve had the longest run of zero boat crossings in 2 years now?

Oh good - another “immigration special” question time.

Broadcast from Dover.

With Zia Yusuf - of course🙄

I wonder what they’ll talk about?

And have you noticed a big uptick in “benefits” stories at the moment?

Probably completely unrelated(🤔) to the fact we’ve had the longest run with no small boat crossings for 2 years, and the latest immigration stats are down at pre-pandemic levels…

They’ve gotta find a scapegoat somewhere🙄

In a surprise to absolutely no one, the mum she’s describing is not claiming benefits as a “lifestyle choice”.

This paywalled article is full of “in my grandparents day, blah blah blah” and nasty sneery comments about latest iPhones for spoilt children🙄

But his retirement plans are now in “disarray” and “ruined” cos he’s going to have to find an additional £208.33 per month?

He has £2-4 million in savings/investments but claims he is not “cash-rich” and his house was his only “pension”

Seriously @Telegraph, where do you find these people?🤣🤣🙄

Paul, in his Aston Martin gilet, 10 years from retirement, living in one of the most expensive houses in one of the best places in Britain, with savings and investments worth £2-4mil (excluding anything he has in tax-free ISAs), who has earned enough in his lifetime to pay “millions in taxes”…

8/
November 29, 2025 at 10:12 AM
Which means he has savings and investments that GENERATE £125,000 income PER YEAR

Meaning his savings and investments must be in the £2-4 million region (depending on the return)

7/
November 29, 2025 at 10:12 AM
He says the mansion tax, and 2% dividend and savings tax increases will cost him £5-6K a year.

The mansion tax will cost £2,500 per year.

So the 2% increase in savings tax and dividend tax will cost him at least £2,500.

6/
November 29, 2025 at 10:12 AM
If we take him at his word and his house is now “only” worth £2,500,000 (he wouldn’t be putting his house in the lowest bracket for this new mansion tax would he?!😜)

That means his house would still be (around) the 15th most expensive house in Cobham, the 2nd most desirable place in Britain

5/
November 29, 2025 at 10:12 AM
He claims his house WAS worth £3mil but is now only £2.5mil and it’s lost 15% in the last 18 months “under Labour”

Right Move says sold house prices in Cobham are down 5% in the last year and 6% down from their peak in 2022.

Why would his house be down 15%?!

4/
November 29, 2025 at 10:12 AM
So he’s been investing in property, doing them up and then selling them

Fair enough

And that’s what he used to buy his own house in 2016 - that’s what he considers to be his “pension”

His own house that he lives in🤷🏼‍♀️

3/
November 29, 2025 at 10:12 AM
Here’s Paul

He’s 56

So he’s still a good 10 years away from retirement

He lives in Cobham, the Second most desirable town to live in the whole of Britain!

He apparently hasn’t been saving into a pension because of a scandal that happened - before he started his working life…🤔

2/
November 29, 2025 at 10:12 AM
Wow - this guy must be really, REALLY bad with money if an extra £208 per month will “ruin” his retirement.

Let’s take a look at his situation based on what he told the @Telegraph

Because this does NOT add up!

No, this is not a “poor pensioner” scrabbling around for pennies…

As an aside, the @the-independent.com using the Union flag as the cover picture for their article is just going to exacerbate the outrage.

That is NOT what is in the exhibition that has been cancelled.

The cognitive dissonance between “labour council bans flags” but also “leave our flags alone and stop making them woke” is off the scale!

Seriously, if ever this Meme was needed, it’s now!

12/
November 26, 2025 at 4:01 PM
The artist was interviewed by JHB on Talk TV who couldn’t hide her views on those flags! She tried to suggest she liked the artwork of this flag but visibly shuddered when he explained the other 2 flags to her!

And somehow managed to talk squeeze in a dig about Trans people 🤷🏼‍♀️

11/
November 26, 2025 at 4:01 PM
Ironically the only people I’ve seen offended are those in the comments sections who are NOT happy with this *woke* reimagining of the flag!

I can only imagine that THOSE people may have also been factored into the library’s decision.

Cos they ain’t going to like these flags!👇🏼🫣

10/
November 26, 2025 at 4:01 PM
So we get “Labour run council cancels flag exhibition for fear of offending people” type headlines.

Although I haven’t actually seen anything from the library or council that uses the word “offense or offend”.

Fearful, yes. Offended, no.

November 26, 2025 at 4:01 PM
But on a lighter note, it has been fun watching the Right Wing media report on this!

Because cancelling flags - BAD

But flags that promote diversity and multiculturalism and highlight our migrant history - also BAD

😂😂

November 26, 2025 at 4:01 PM
I get it. Our flags are continuously tainted with racism the more they’re used by “patriots” to stoke division.

And I also get the frustration from the artist and SUTR who see the cancellation as capitulation and silence in the face of that racism

I’m not sure there is an easy answer…

The library mention fears it could “put visitors and their belongings at risk”.

And then said that libraries are a place of sanctuary and that minority communities have been fearful in recent months following all the flags being put up around the country

5/16
November 26, 2025 at 4:01 PM
It would have been a display of 3 flags:

The New Union Flag

A Union Flag with “The English were Migrants/English were German”

A St George’s Cross with “Saint George was Palestinian/St George was a migrant”

And now the Library has cancelled the exhibition.

4/16
November 26, 2025 at 4:01 PM
It was displayed in the Jubilee Library in Brighton in 2018 and was reproduced and displayed all around the city in bus stops etc.

Have a read👇🏼 It sounds amazing!

In a collaboration with Stand Up to Racism (SUTR), an exhibition was planned in the Jubilee Library again…
