It would also make it harder for future nurses, therapists, and care workers to enter these professions by limiting their access to federal student loans. I will fight any policy that undermines the people who helped me care for my mother in her final year and who care for all of us every day. (4/5)

According to the Trump Administration, nursing is no longer considered a “professional degree,” which could limit future nurses’ eligibility for higher-cap federal student loans. This isn’t only insulting — it will further degrade the quality of U.S. healthcare.

Despite all the stupid things they've done, it's shocking they would want to exclude nurses from student loans for advanced practice degrees. Nurse Practicioners, Physician Assistants, Midwives, as well as other excluded degrees like PTs, make healthcare better and cheaper.

Nurses are special people. They perform duties that most of us are unable or unwilling to do. They're overworked and underpaid. I'm in awe of their knowledge, competence, efficiency, and selflessness. They save lives and should be recognized as the professionals that they are.

Nurses are the linchpin of the American healthcare system. They’re PROFESSIONALS no matter what this Administration tries to say. They’re trying to say they’re not so they don’t qualify for as many student loans. It’s WRONG. I’m sick of Republicans manipulating the system to their own advantage.
