She joined the National Guard because she dreamed of one day having a career with the FBI. She loved nature, road trips, and time with family. “As long as she was with people who cared about her, she was having a good time,” he said.

Spc. Beckstrom volunteered to serve in DC on Thanksgiving so other National Guard members could be with their families. According to her former partner, she was a caring and tenderhearted soul who worked for the military police.
