It's tricky. I can see that there might be a psychological impediment (on either side) to visits if they had to be paid for like that. Even though they might be entirely affordable.

My mother "downsized" herself to (large) three bedroom house in the Yorkshire dales in her mid sixties after my dad died. Gradually built up a network, and with the help of carers towards the end, died at home in her own bed at age 96 a few weeks ago.

Yup. Our friends very nearly built an extension 3 bed -> 4 bed. Got a design, got it costed, but decided not to do it.

We bought a plot and built a house, so we've done our bit to increase housing supply. Weirdly, the people who bought our old house were older than us.

We have recently "downsized" from 5 bedrooms to 4 bedrooms. We were warned by friends "Don't go to 3 bedrooms or you will end up sleeping in the garage when the family comes for Christmas - like we have to".

Do they just pay you compensation, or do they wipe the content from their servers and make the AI "unlearn" what it's learned from you?
I'm guessing it's just the former, which is better than nothing, but still not great.

I honestly don't understand what they are trying to negotiate. You can't get something for nothing. If you don't pay in, how can you get anything out?
