Amplifying @leahmillis.bsky.social’s message given how critical it is to credit photographers during this time.
The @chicago.suntimes.com photographer who risked their personal health and safety to take this photograph is Anthony Vazquez. Please credit photographers and media outlets. In this age of misinformation, a photo with no context could be anything at all.
Please remind us who the domestic terrorists are again.

My first thought was “wow I hope this guy didn’t give out his name because he could absolutely be charged” and yup, he is correct to stay anonymous.

This man’s account is shocking. His neighbors’ situation is shocking. The entire Chicago raid is shocking.

Weaponized gratitude is a key tool in the abuser's toolkit. The goal is to convince the victim that they owe the abuser so much, they should feel guilty for wanting to complain.

Washington Post dismantled the platform Jamal wrote on. Discarded the fellowship they created in his memory.

They fired me unjustly for speaking the truth.

But I’ll never stop talking about my friend, writer, and amazing human, Jamal Khashoggi.

RIP, Jamal.

Maybe the real treasure was that swoony romance novel you almost grabbed from the display… but now you’re stuck with a book you’re hate-reading just out of spite. 📚😂

Situation on 14th St and W St. NW, with federal agents -- no specific agency identified -- pulling cars over for checks. They arrested a Black woman in this car.

BIG crowd of people shouting at police.

"Fuck you!"

"What is wrong with you!"

"You don't need to terrorize people like this!"

NYC friends: this poor dog was almost on his freedom ride out of the pound when his foster didn't show up on him. He's now in danger of being put down. Do you have space in your home and heart to adopt him? ❤️

Also, lots of animals at this NYC shelter who need a home.

It wasn’t a victory against slavery. Quite the opposite. The 3/5 compromise was a victory for enslavers enabling them to count their “property” as people & benefiting them from the boost in population —& representation—in Congress in the process. They dominated nat’l politics for decades as a result.
The tables and chairs thing could be true! Maybe it was mentioned in correspondence or a diary. (I’m not actually a scholar!) But the idea that 3/5th was a victory against slavery is belied by the MILLIONS OF PEOPLE WHO LIVED THEIR LIVES AS CHATTEL FOR THE NEXT 70 YEARS.

I got laid off today, with the rest of 18F.

18F was an elite federal software shop. We made gov't websites work better, more efficiently for the American people. We saved taxpayers from getting screwed over by contractors. And were fired for it.

We made this website to tell our story:

Please just stop. The internet has meant more people previously ignored for diagnosis, due to lack of recognition for even basic traits, have been able to find a community and recognise those traits. That's a good thing. It isn't "over-diagnosis". It's catching up after decades of "under-diagnosis".
