I was playing through some of the Project 3 games today and I was SO impressed with the design quality of Flow State. Kevin did a FANTASTIC job with the sounds, animations, & the actual mechanics #SmallGameStudio

Getting this gif to upload on Giphy took almost as long as building the whole game. The main game mechanic is still in progress but movement and spawning is looking good 😎 #SmallGameStudio

playing through "Life of a Polygon" right now and it is SO MUCH FUN. It has a gripping story, the mechanics are really cool and unique but also create the need for some really challenging moves. I'm only a square so far but I'll always be fan of the silent protagonist #relatable #SmallGameStudio

Struck by the audacious concept behind "Combat at the Movies" which reimagines classic films as Atari tank battles. It took a little while to figure out the mechanics for each game but I appreciate how they're made to mirror the themes in the films (Rashomon was very fun) #SmallGameStudio

Finally got some time to work on Arcade 3. Started playing "I Very Much Don't Want To Be Here." I thought the starting instructions to "blend in" were odd at first but intriguing. Within 30 seconds it became a very relatable experience of feeling out of place despite "fitting in" #SmallGameStudio

Finally finished (I hope, think, and pray) the code for my three game states. Nothing crazy (I think its ~200 lines) but I've written the word "Block" so many times I'm experiencing semantic satiation from typing... #SmallGameStudio

Unfortunately I've still been feeling pretty sick but as I've been preparing for my #PechaKucha on David Kanaga and i am blown away by two things: the sheer number of albums and musical projects he's worked on AND the AWESOME cover art he consistently delivers with each album #SmallGameStudio

Not much to update from the game... yet BUT preparing for my Pecha Kucha, Daniel Kanaga (and prof LeMieux by recommendation) has introduced the idea of music as "skin" for time signatures and now you know about it too :D #smallgamestudio
