Without the "!", it would just be a sparkling quiz show.

Yes, it does. It can be waived by the Estate. Here, the Estate of Jeffrey Epstein has been functioning like a bankruptcy trustee and may be amenable to waiving privilege.

I do not know. I remember that Ted Cruz defeated Donald Trump in the Iowa caucuses and that Trump did not have the Republican party coalesce behind him for about six weeks afterwards.

I think that Ted Cruz (to whom not enough bad things can happen) might have fanned those flames among Q-anon.

I do not know if early reporting about Trump’s deep ties to Jeffrey Epstein “would have been the end of Trump.” I think that such reporting might have arrested the Q-anon slide towards Trump when there were many other 2016 GOP candidates seeking their support.

He was not. Nor was the Secretary of State. Both traded their souls for a temporary seat at the feast of power.

And not enough bad things can happen to Ted Cruz.

In my defense, I was not the most arrogant future federal prosecutor in our trial advocacy workshop.

As a former federal prosecutor who focused on sex trafficking cases, it is true that there is a “difference” between criminals who traffic 15 year olds and criminals who traffic 5 year olds. One gets a greater sentence than the other. Both are aggravated felonies with a 15 year mandatory minimum.

Since I was a prospective at Dartmouth dragged to a Dartmouth Review reception at the Hanover Inn, I have known that Laura Ingraham was an evil stupid person who engaged in moral preening as if she were moral and smart.

Academic achievement does not necessarily indicate functional intelligence.

I grew up cheering for Dave Jennings, who punted for the Giants and later the Jets. He was smart, sophisticated and urbane when he moved behind the microphone.

Pat McAfee is no Dave Jennings.

The senior line prosecutor on this letter was my supervisor when I was an AUSA in the District of New Jersey from 2001 - 04. He is a true public servant, who has done great work throughout his career. I regret that he has to serve under such leadership.

4/4 "Reading is fundamental" (RIF) was a mantra in my childhood. It remains true. People who can read have a huge advantage in navigating the world. Schools should use methods to reach students where they are to impart this most valuable skill.

3/ Over her protests, I read the whole book aloud. She never again tried to get me to subscribe to the "3 cue" method.

I am certain that there are *some* students who are best served by "3 cues", but I do not think that they are the majority, or even a significant plurality.

2/ I was part of the "reading group" of kindergarten students who were believed to be ready to start reading. My teacher put a "Dick and Jane" book in front of me and asked me to describe what was in the picture as "cues" of what the words were. I looked at her and said, "Why not just read them?"

One of the greatest (fictional) trial lawyers need six tries to pass the bar: Vincent LaGuardia Gambini.
