S1 have explored WHO and DOING. Today we focused on WHERE & DESCRIBE. We selected a tunnel & a forest. Used our five senses to DESCRIBE. Our iPads were a great way to record our thoughts and support reading. @connectedfalk.bsky.social @gmthhs-library.bsky.social @lrsfalkirk.bsky.social

Lovely day with Outdoor Education on a coastal walk in South Queensferry. We explored the area, asked lots of questions, took a mindful moment listening to the waves. We managed to walk 5K.

We enjoyed repeating key phrases.

BGE tutorial groups have been working on their Word Detective skills. They’ll be looking out for alien ‘unknown’ words this week in class and around @grangemouthhs.bsky.social to develop strategies to support their learning.

First Book Bistro of the year completed. Some new authors and books discovered by pupils. Some even dived straight into one after.

Fantastic work from our School of Achievement group. We learned the rules and scoring for Boccia. Took on playing and officiating roles. Then used our numeracy skills for the scoring.

S2 have been using their digital skills in our War storyline. We used Freeform to track our discussions and decisions. Pupils recorded their journals using Pages or voice memos each week.
Thursday will be our VE Day celebration.

The first air raid happened in our S2 Storyline with pupils discussing the impact on their fictional family, community and planning next steps. We wrote our journal entry discussing their thoughts and feelings.

Today we had our Space launch as part of our Storyline. We discussed emotions our astronauts might feel & why. Our astronauts will keep a digital journal to record emotions, thoughts & their adventures .
