A few different ways you can square the circle, but one way that is perhaps less challenging than either of those is to join ICC and give them retrospective jurisdiction to 2025 in the signing statement. At that point a valid pardon ends the domestic process and starts the intl one

tbh this sums up 80% of what I could have said

Yeah and I don't even hear "Dems won't hold anyone responsible" as necessarily dooming so much as looking ahead to the coming battles (though I'm sure it's often and annoyingly put in a nihilistic way)

Less optimal because fewer speakers?
I'd say ideally our use would be 80% normal TV, 15% music, and if possible, 5% immersive movie experience, risking complaints from the downstairs neighbor

Honestly "bullying" kinda works too

Yeah, that's what I'm thinking… but on the other hand it keeps me from going down an /r/budgetaudiophiles rabbit hole…

I am not an audiophile but I can strongly hear the difference between bluetooth audio and CarPlay in my car, to level set.

I kind of like the idea of a modular system I can build up over time, but it seems like the more you go that route, the more potential bang for your buck, but it also quickly gets overwhelming.

i don't have a blog or newsletter but i think people should know that if they go to costco right now and find a half-off costco thanksgiving dinner for 8 and some souper cube freezer trays they could theoretically turn the holiday into a very affordable monthly or even biweekly affair

Thinking about it some more, there is
an interesting parallel here with LLMs, which also present a unitary "answer" that's synthesized from many many voices. (Of course we all do this constantly in our heads, but rarely explicitly, usually too fast to even notice.)

You can believe it or not, but I was taking your earnestness at face value and genuinely trying to reciprocate. It wasn't a rhetorical question - though as my followup suggests, I see a problem with this approach - and I appreciate your response.

I do think "anti anti AI" comes from a similar place as "anti anti woke" — namely, "I agree with these other people more than I feel ok admitting in my social circles, and to me that is oppression"

It feels like an extension of this cartoon - no one agrees with you that society should be improved, because they are all participating in society

People act like the haters are out of touch because these things have a lot of users but actually talk to the users and a lot of them sound more like the haters than the defenders
