@mirrormudd.bsky.social
Over 40. He/Him. Love to sing, tell stories, play TRRPG, look at art and architecture.
Mostly here to celebrate Star Trek.

Finding sanity through escapism. May occasionally post in-character RP.
Picked up my very own copy of The Rise of Hellfire graphic novel by @jodyhouser.bsky.social and @16biteric.bsky.social at the local comic shop today. Can't wait to crack it open this weekend!

What is your Star Trek project that only you would love?

USS Hiawatha plans, of course.

Finished laying floors for USS Hiawatha's aft engineering section and deflector pod. That's all the floors.

Nobody asked for this but me, and it's starting to get more exhausting than engaging. Anybody wants to pick up this blender file to play with, let me know.

So far I've located the Warp Core, antimatter storage and injection, impulse fusion reactors, and done some plasma plumbing for USS Hiawatha. Not bad for one evening.

This big trapezoid hatch for the warp core means there's enough room for a big, bulky, old style NX-01 warp 5 engine like we saw in Enterprise. That fits with the idea that the Hiawatha is an older design by the time Disco starts, putting it firmly between the two eras.

Assuming we're following the pattern established in the official TNG EntD blueprints, that would make these three panels the Warp Core Ejection Hatch, the Antimatter Pod Loading Hatch, and the fluid Antimatter Loading Port, respectively.

Hiawatha engineering section progress.
Skin art from the amazing Pundus shows three panels on the ventral surface of the engine section (circled in green first pic). Eaglemoss model has gray panels here in descending sizes like the gray boxes I drew in on top (second pic)

Okay procrastination time is over. It's time to start on the drive section. Step one, deflector dish.

If you see this, post a #StarTrek!

It's finally time to stop procrastinating the aft section of USS Hiawatha. I have an idea what to do with the purple, green, and blue decks. But the red decks and warp core are hitting writers block, and it has to be done first to decide exactly where other things go. Any advice would be helpful.

So replicator matter storage probably just looks like blocks or powders of bismuth.

There's probably some bored Ensign in the operations department who's in charge of raw matter storage and replicator maintenance. And I'll bet they make amazing bismuth crystal sculpture in their free time. 🖖😄

But starships do have limited storage space, so i thought "what's the densest element?" But those are generally radioactive things like uranium.

So then what's the densest non-radioactive element? - Bismuth.

It's the most efficient and stable way to store loads of subatomic particles. 🧵2

So once upon a time i was just sitting around thinking about how Star Trek replicators work.

Like they *can* make matter from pure energy, but it costs less energy to make matter from different matter. And the matter storage can be like, any kind of material imaginable. 🧵

Today, converting USS Hiawatha's shuttlebay into a cargo bay.
These module cubes have so much volume it's bonkers.

Posting feet.

The hospital has landed!

Especially happy with the feet. Reminds me of Baba Yaga's hut.

New profile pic. It's not Christmas yet, so let's pass the cinnamon and nutmeg while we remember the reason for the season.
