This week in Port of Spain, officials from Barbados, Suriname, and Trinidad and Tobago took part in an assessment of the International Ammunition Technician Guidelines (IATGs) conducted by MAG, CARICOM IMPACS and @thegichd.bsky.social.

In #Angola, MAG recently hosted Japanese Ambassador Hiroaki Sano and Kaori Tomii, Apoio a Projectos Comunitários' Liaison Coordinator, in Moxico.

Together with Vice Governor Elizabeth Mafo Ayala, they helped hand over six landmine-cleared sites made safe with Japan’s support.

MAG recently joined the second international #EWIPA conference in Costa Rica, focused on protecting civilians from the use of explosive weapons in populated areas.

The message was clear: political commitments must translate into action, and prevention must remain the priority.

50 years ago today, Angola’s civil war began, leaving behind a deadly legacy.

Participants took part in practical exercises on safe methods of storing weapons & ammunition & setting up secure armouries. They were also trained in international standards & conventions. MAG is committed to working with national authorities to promote lasting peace & security.
