The best way to show how Mr Payne's illustrated the passenger coaches. The coaches behind Gordon's are based on Mr Wilbert's sketches. In Thomas', they are realistic with a commonly used 'top and tail'. Simply put a full brake at both ends. Also, the length of the coaches is also noticeable.

On the topic of my last post where we see Dalby painting over Mr Payne's originals, and some left out parts, there are changes to the sleepers on the Main line next to Thomas and Sir Topham Hatt I. You can just about see the original Thomas' buffer beam.

A possible evolution of Mr Payne's Gordon 1945-1946. From defined lines as seen on Wilbert's sketches (images 1 and 2), to Mr Payne's attempt to bring a realistic design of the LNER A1 and the Southern Railway's E2. (images 3 and 4)

This is possibly one of the illustrations the community would often miss, but it's Mr Payne's nice attention to detail to a railway accuracy, with a passenger train consist - a coach behind Thomas is an additional brake coach.
Glad that Dalby kept it in.

Still work in progress for this December, doing my Christmas present for Ghost, so here's how it looks like when I only add colour to him and the presents.

Amazingly, Reginald Payne isn't the only one who painted the roof lighter. Rather than painting it black like the rest of his work, it's actually a clever way to show how a reflected material like steel, reflects and absorbs the light. And Peter Edwards also did the same.

Decided to redo this animation by adding the wave principle to the steam coming out of Atlas' funnel. Characters are from RailsOfTheWorld's series The Tales of The Big Four.

Decided to go back and redo this scan by @sleeperagent1.bsky.social by adjusting the faded colours - from reds to neutrals. And using neutrals it turned out really good. The first one to be done in Affinity Photo :D

What I was able to do here, is lowering the brightness of every single colour, instead of using brightness and contrast, curves or levels.

Something I did for @kinekovideo.bsky.social.

Last year, this fan group released a video showcasing a rush workprint of Toei's 'YuGiOh!' movie, released for a Spring '99 Toei Anime Fair.

What I tried to do here, is combine two rushes with an audio.

While on 27th November will be 53 years with John T. Kenney's and, 78 years on 20th December, with Alexander Reginald Payne's passing, I decided to share Mr. Kenney's piece again and the new one for Mr. Payne as a thank you for his contribution.

May their lives never fade with time.

Using LibreOffice writer, I'm able to do what'll require a couple of posts here, to just two screenshots.

This one goes into my initial analysis of a wheel arrangement of this background engine as seen in the third illustration of Thomas' Train.

While it's only for 6 frames in 24 fps with no inbetweens, this is the first ever example of my way to animate engines moving. Using the characters from RailsOfTheWorld series Tales of the Big Four.

While Middleton referred to Wilbert's sketches with the engines, Payne actually nailed the expressions. One of the facial features that's the most noticeable are Thomas' eyebrows. Although the annoying part of Wilbert's sketches has to be a low quality photo used on TTTE wiki.

Yesterday, I'd been in a Liners of the Golden Era mood, so I did two pieces for a 115th birthday of a launch of a White Star Line's Olympic - Old Reliable.

As Payne did add a signal gantry close to the station, he didn't include the platform starters for an early 1925 Vicarstown terminus.

While we don't have a picture of Reginald Payne even with his work outside of his contribution to book 2 - Thomas the Tank Engine, here's my interpretation of him.

To be honest, I didn't like the end result for the last one shared here as the blue colour is royal blue but a bit darker.

A few of the examples from Sleeper Agent's scans I had to redo the brightness and colours. As well as trying make them somewhat match The Unlucky Tug's scans.

A small practise animation of me trying to pick up what's the best signal drop that I can use for the project.

A small practise and colour drawing of this signal, commonly used as home and starter.

A month from now will be a 5 year anniversary since my planned animation project with adapting the books (originally reanimating AEG) was introduced after the very announcement of All Engines Go and a poster reveal.
