Brits are sold the myth that the government “has no money” and must cut like a household. This false story makes austerity look unavoidable, even though it’s a political choice, not an economic necessity.

UK politicians don’t explain how money really works because the “household budget” myth is politically useful: it justifies cuts, hides choices, and keeps voters quiet. It also protects the power of markets, donors and institutions that prefer governments constrained by “debt”.

He rarely turned up for a vote.
I wonder what was so special about this one?😉

Passionate in her beliefs. Fiercely loyal to her friends. Never afraid to let you know exactly where she stood. The best.

Fun Fact: I remember arguing with her over which of us hated Piggy the most. I was sure I did. She disagreed. It remains unresolved...

Britain’s oil, gas and finance curses www.taxresearch.org.uk/Blog/2025/11... Why is the UK failing? It's not because we are no good: it's because the government squandered oil and then bowed down to finance. We never had a hope once our governments put them first.

Farage’s politics were forged in City finance during the Big Bang era - deregulation & anti-EU views shaped his career. Later, his Brexit push aligned with US libertarian networks & Russia’s goal to weaken the EU, amplified by Kremlin-backed media. #Farage #Brexit #UKPolitics
