The thing about fansubs is regardless of anything else that may be going on, ultimately fansubs are made by someone who *really cares about what they're making*. That actually was true at one time at Crunchyroll. It is not true now.

This meta of "ITS BAD" videos about games blows man. As a lifelong hater, this deep level of hating is exhausting mainly because I know it's not from a place of genuine critique, it's never a discussion for wanting things to be better, it's just being negative to generate clicks. Absolute shite

I was talking to the SNK community manager once before he stopped following me entirely and he asked,"Hey man, how mad would people be if we launched a game as EGS exclusive?" and I was like "Really mad, man. Everyone hates EGS."
So they launched SamSho as a Stadia exclusive. Then an EGS exclusive.

Someone during the steam launch reached out to inform me that SE was extremely unhappy with the games release on Epic and was in fact fully treating the steam release as the games full release on PC and ignoring the former releases.
Kingdom hearts was only on epic for years and it basically didn't exist to me until it came to steam

I looked deeply into this.
It is SO much worse than just one dev.
The official server is run like 4chan, with a bot conveniently auto-replacing slurs. They also have their *own* code phrase to refer to trans people, and permit all sorts of awful things said there.

The thing about CrunchyRoll’s enshittification is that normally I’m a big proponent of supporting official channels but if the money from subscriptions isn’t being used to pay talent and labour and the quality suffers as a result, then morally what’s the purpose of supporting those official means?

Nearly every single day I have games like this clogging up my inboxes, and it's such a time wasting endeavour, as I have to sort through and filter out all the AI generated shovelware, and it just won't stop. No matter how clear I am that I am not interested in AI slopware, it keeps coming.
