Mike Elias said the Orioles are "in pursuit" of a prominent starting pitcher this winter, as he has said a few times this winter. He adds that Baltimore will look to improve the depth of the pitching staff as well

The Orioles targeted an impact outfield bat and they got one in Taylor Ward, who hit 36 home runs as a right-handed hitter in 2025.

Ward posted a .918 OPS last year vs. lefties. He could help lift a lineup that missed middle-of-the-order production

The Orioles protect outfielder Reed Trimble and right-hander Cameron Foster from the Rule 5 Draft by adding them to the 40-man roster, which is now at 40 players.

Outfielder Pedro León and infielder Luis Vázquez were DFA'd to make room.
