I think glow-in-the-dark is one of those phenomena that transcends generations. It’s something that fascinates kids at a certain age and LED technology doesn’t quite compare. My first glow-in-the-dark toy was my Duncan yo-yo in the early ‘70’s. I soon graduated to black lights and posters like this:
