Collective punishment based on nationality is not aligned with American values. Michigan’s newest Afghan community members risked their lives to further the U.S. mission in Afghanistan and deserve to live in peace, security, and freedom.

Local police fuel the Trump admin's mass deportation agenda. 70-75% of ICE arrests begin with local law enforcement encounters. And now 7 agencies in MI have 287(g) agreements.

Our hearts break for the families of the National Guard Members who were shot this week.
This terrible tragedy should not be used as a political tool to double down on the Trump administration's agenda of targeting immigrant families, including refugees and asylum seekers.

⚖️ A new proposed court rule would prohibit civil arrests at Michigan courthouses. The presence of ICE near courthouses can deter people from accessing the court process they need to preserve individual rights, well-being, and public safety.
