🤣 took me a while to work out what "gunshee" might be

But yes, it's a good point.
I guess it was much less likely for your HoD or head to read what you wrote!

I'd love to see posts and blogs about why instructional coaching might not be all that, for example
but you'd have to be brave, and who would act on it?
Power to try stuff out has moved from classrooms to trusts, often.

Maybe there's also a trough in 'rebellion' and opportunity.
There was a time when it was okay to oppose things, or suggest alternatives, based on experience. Now everything is argued as evidence-based (regardless of the quality) that's harder.
I feel like we're back in a national strategies window.

Not only more careful, but have less to say to big audiences. I tried things as a classroom teacher which were relatively safe to try and to discuss, and relevant to a wide audience who might adopt some of the thinking. I think that audience has shrunk along with teacher autonomy.

Careful, fella - I reckon she's only after you for your body

Thank you!

Oh, you're in for more treats. The third series is a delight, and worth it for the toothbrushing reference alone!

And should we really be serving espressos to infants anyway!

My suspicion is that nor do they.

Yes twenty for us. So this massive cost and upheaval will give parents ten minute minutes in their day. Madness.

Well, quite!

Notably, 2 of the 4 mainstream case studies posted today by the DfE already had a subsidised breakfast club as part of their pupil premium plan for last academic year. I wonder if it will still need subsidising now... my suspicion is that it will.
More funds diverted away from education.

Likewise.
I know "boring but technically competent" wasn't inspiring, but I'd grab it with both hands!

Who needs additional funding when there is "always capacity".
If there's one thing I'm always hearing, it's about the copious spare capacity. 🙄

Even if we had the budget to pay for all this staff (we don’t) , we don’t have a big enough space to sit everyone down- lunch is already served in sittings. Presumably we’d have to use classrooms. In which case, when are we meant to prepare for , our actual core business, education?

This statements seems to lack the "how", because there's plenty of schools nationally where there's not sufficient staff capacity for all those who need one-to-one. To imply that it's as simple as that is crass at best.

Roping in Year 5 and 6 children is not "staffing". Employing children under 13 is still, I believe, against the law.
And if it relies on "volunteer" children helpers to make it viable, then it's a short step from slavery.
Do they have to be trained in food hygiene?

Maybe we could throw a bonus coffin into the deal for when it sees them off.

This is baffling. In pretty much every primary school now, *every* class is a SEND class. Do I need a TA from every class to agree to staff breakfast club. Do they get a choice? What about their own morning responsibilities?
