Delegate 4. Thanking various councillors for helping them at 13th & 6th on the topic of some amount of parking removal. It was never said why parking was actually being removed. Or how much parking.

A few of my favourite photos from the first part of my recent trip to Newfoundland: around St. John's and the very Irish Avalon Peninsula. I was fascinated by the area's ties to the sea (as with the rest of NL), the strategic importance of St. John's harbour in WW2, and the similarity to Ireland.

Should we route BRT through Burnaby Heights, or along Boundary Rd?
They're the same question. Tell TransLink that routing rapid transit away from key destinations is a dumb idea 🤦

Cumulatively, 316 years of transit users time has been wasted since 24 July, 2024 since Vancouver voted to put bus lanes on its 9 busiest corridors.

Putting bus lanes on the 9 corridors this motion touches on would be some of the easiest, most impactful transportation changes the city could make. Instead, endless fights over parking spaces continues, at the expense of hundreds of thousands of daily bus riders.

Working on this bus lane motion by @christineboyle.bsky.social was a huge eye opener for me and one of the things that got me into organizing and politics. It was amazing! A unanimous vote with 3 hours of speakers in favour.
Unfortunately, the City of Vancouver has had near-zero follow through.
