Indeed, the Republicans were the first to point out that facts don't matter. It's how the public feels or what the public believes which makes all the difference. The press is marketing a narrative, too.

They aren't asking about facts, like "how much are prices up."
They're asking "do you agree that these prices are up"
Stop asking people if they agree about facts.
"do you agree that the sun came up this morning? 20% of those surveyed said no."
That's validating stupid.
