The c-curbs are now installed and I’m not sure how they are helping prevent left turns out of the Safeway parking lot. They are preventing left turns from Rainier on either side of the median, but seem to encourage left turns onto Rainier. Is this the intended outcome?

That is the real solution. I’d bet that more people in Seattle will benefit from closing all ramps than will benefit from keeping them open (just talking about travel times, not air pollution, etc). SDOT should fight for this, no reason to keep them open for Eastside commuters who insist on driving.

Alternative 4 is a joke, right? Rainier will have 1 general and 1 bus lane each direction after RapidRide R, so adding any more lanes should be a non-starter.

I’m going to Chicago this week and will be taking my niece to see Santa on a CTA holiday bus. The bus runs a regular schedule but has pictures with Santa during layovers. This is absolutely something ST and/or Metro should do.

SDOT crews were out today installing these barriers on the westbound lane.

Update from Parks:

These stops have about 400 boardings (200 each direction) each day from transfers between the 255 and 545 every weekday. All other boardings add up to about 100 each day. So we are looking at about 500 combined daily boardings for Yarrow Point and Evergreen Point stops.

It was great to see the new stations. I’m looking forward to seeing how Kent and Federal Way take advantage of this new resource. Time for some of us to take a nap.

I think a small apartment building could fit in the same amount of space as this refuge island and slip lane.
