On March 24, 2025, a man was scheduled to appear in court. He never made it. ICE officers intercepted him, claimed they had a warrant, and took him into custody. They never showed the warrant. His wife called in a panic—she didn’t know where he was, only that ICE had taken him, and no one could tell her where. Several hours passed and she found out he was in one detention center in Newark then he moved to Elizabeth, NJ.

I wasn’t a supporter of Charlie Kirk, and I didn’t share his views. However, I will say that I feel for his wife, his two young children, and the rest of his family. Today, they wake up without a father, husband, uncle, brother, nephew, or cousin—because of a senseless act of violence. He held polarizing viewpoints, but violence was never a justified response.

Do you know what would be nice? Writing a blog about my favorite songs or the types of dogs and cats I love to cuddle ALL OF THEM!!! I LOVE ALL OF THEM!!!  Sigh. So, we done messed up again, folks. Not really surprised anymore since America is racist, sexist, narcissistic, and sociopathic. Politically we are at an impasse. Some want another Civil War.

Misstep publicly, and you must launch a carefully choreographed apology tour with strategic interviews, curated social media posts, and the occasional tearful podcast appearance. Experts show up on news shows to dissect the apology, analyzing it play-by-play like a New York Giants game. Then come the opinion pieces, declaring it wasn’t contrite enough.
