Celebrating my first day of a month of leave from work with the world cup draw, knitting, and an espresso martini. Grateful to be in a position to take a month of leave unpaid because my god, I need it so badly. Cheers to a relaxing holiday season and interesting WC groups!

It’s been a hell of a 24 hours for me. Witnessed the first M’s home playoff win in decades last night. Today, advocated for myself and actually asked for what I needed at work and now I have four weeks of leave at the end of the year. That I DESPERATELY needed.

Lab mice used in experiments are genetically identical and easy to manipulate (e.g. you can control diet, treatment compliance, etc). They are model organisms of a best case scenario. Human biology and behavior is decidedly NOT best case scenario. Greed aside, this is just an uninformed take.
