They, (and your research on them) are astonishing, Lynn. Marvellous!

At least it’s recorded with the IWM.

Our local museum has several local ones in storage, usually from closed churches etc. They’re not lost per se, but they’re not publicly visible either, which is a great shame.

Thoroughly enjoyed your talk Mike, with many ideas to develop our own work in different directions. I haven’t forgotten about that 1904 coroners newspaper article either. I just need to see if I can locate the chap’s grave and get a photo as inscriptions sometimes throw more light on their deaths.

Visited there in summer 2024, to photograph the 49 graves of German prisoners of war who were from Raikeswood Camp near #Skipton and moved from Morton Cemetery, #Keighley, after the war. Most of them had died in the influenza epidemic in 1918 and 1919. #FWW #WW1 #Prisoners

I think I'm going to have to watch it all again...
I loved her expresssions of glee when her son was visibly wound up by Anne Lister.

Also brilliant as Mrs Rawson in Gentleman Jack. Made me grin when I realised.
