I watched the American Kennel Club dog show and there was a dog named Baby Joe that looked like he had angry cartoon eyebrows, so the announcers say "Baby Joe" and it cuts to this guy looking like he's gonna kick your ass:

She sent me this pygmy hippo fact about an hour ago:
Screenshot: Why are pygmy hippos so shiny? You'd think that gloss comes from wallowing in water all day. Nope. All over their skin, pygmy hippos have tiny mucus glands that excrete a pink goo, keeping them hydrated and protected from the sun. Their skin is actually greenish-black, but the mucus gives them a rosy glow.

Idk how to make this interesting to other people but last night my elderly mother sent me, unprompted, a photo of a hippo followed by just a scathing review of this animal.

Fish mail sounds cool I think this would probably do well if it still existed? Kind of animal crossing-esque.
From Wikipedia: The game also featured two modes of online play: tournament fishing and "fish mail". In tournament fishing, players competed to catch the biggest fish within a species. Fish mail consisted of writing short messages. Players could receive random messages by catching fish.

I've been sad and I started rewatching Monthly Girls Nozaki-Kun and it really makes me smile, I love these idiots so much.

Oh I love it, I love these two dingdongs. I thought the series might be spinning its wheels a little bit but there's a fun little turn in episode 6 and I'm just so bought in on these doofuses. If you like a rom-com with some really lovely, subtle acting you might like Yano-kun's Ordinary Days too!

My mom has a bunch of photos of the Halloween costumes she made for me as a kid and no social media. I think she'd be really happy for people to admire her work! 1/2
