That’s why they have to try to present their whining like they are trying to protect people from some great direct danger. Because, otherwise, yes, they would have to admit that it’s LARPing.

My favorite response to them is to be like, “oh, I didn’t know you had a lab in your house! What’s your methodology? How are you recruiting participants?” because I like pointing out that what they do is NOT “research.”
