Trump is giving another $12 billion of taxpayer money to bail out farmers again from his disastrous policies. Just like he had to bail them out in his first term from his disastrous policies. But they will continue to vote Republican, as long as they keep getting their welfare checks.

Every real economist in America warned at the time he was imposing tariffs that it would affect each of these things, and deportations have affected the ability of farmers to access labor. This is all happening because of one man.

3/ He seemed, I thought, to imply that the issue seems now to be viewed not as about the extent to which Congress can delegate its legislatve power at all, but instead whether it can place any limits on the executive's quasi-legislative power.

2/ I loved Gorsuch's comment that *originally* (Gorsuch's emphasis) the unitary executive theory concerned the constitutional limit to which Congress could delegate its legislatve function to the executive *at all* - and that that concern seems to have disappeared but maybe should be considered. ...

GOP is also banking on the fact that no Democrat would completely clean house among the agencies after election, because it’s so destabilizing. So we’ll be stuck with at least part of this Trumpie infestation for many years.

Why is it assumed that the independence of commissioners is severable from the statute creating the agency itself?

Fvck that Supreme Court. They are the main contributor to this country’s problems. They’ve destroyed decades of progress and rules.

Appreciated Sotomayor's and (if I remember right) Jackson's commenting on whether, given Congress's purpose in structuring the agencies as not subject to the executive's every whim - its very reason for *creating* them - the agencies could continue to exist at all in such critically altered form.

A point I made earlier. Once the White House changes party, there will be a stampede to the Roberts Court to undo all their granting of kingly powers to POTUS. And they will be reversed, that's clear.

Well watch this Supreme Court try to reverse a lot of their decisions when there’s no longer a replacement in the White House. These conservative justices are so blatantly corrupt

One of the main things that made the USA a power -- reliable, trustworthy independent agencies led by subject matter experts -- is going to die soon, and people are not going to like it. SCOTUS is going to make most Americans poorer and sicker just so a few Americans can be much, much richer.

Sometimes, it's difficult to predict how #SCOTUS is going to rule based solely on how the oral argument goes.

And sometimes ... it's not.

we all got cowed into avoiding "virtue signaling" as if the public affirmation of socially agreed upon ethical principles was somehow cringey instead of a significant part of what a "society" even is. now all there's left is vice signaling, and it's reshaping society.
