Gen X who spent my early adulthood buying into the Reagan era. Bush X 2 changed my mind. Still hopeful that we will make it through the dark times and recover in 28.
While true, the senate, governor, and AG races are not subject to gerrymandering and are pretty reliably republican. The truth is there are still more registered R than D. Hoping this midterm surprises us though.

I'm sure we can expect congressional hearings and all the influencers on Twitter to call for prison time, right?

I agree. I think she would be an outstanding senator. I just dont think the climate is right in texas for her to win. I DO believe she can win another House race, even with the gerrymandering. She is an incredible asset, I don't want to see her on the sidelines.

I think Texas Republicans are in for a bit of a shock come next November.

It was 100% using stereotypes as the humor. This wasn't All In The Family or Blazing Saddles where the bigotry is being lampooned, this was stereotyping people and making the characterization the comedy.

The maker's choices in how to portray the only two minorities in central roles is problematic. Then they decided to double down by making the only black primary character stereotypically gay. Not just gay, but outlandishly flamboyant. There was no attempt at satire, it wasn't mocking bigotry.

I disagree. To me the saddest part is all the maga chuds celebrating it like it actually means anything.

Yeah. I watched it as a teen and missed a lot of it. Saw it years later and got hot right in the face with all of it. Its definitely not worth watching again.

I think you can also mention the exposure of a child to sexual materials. And maybe the pedophilia of one of the main characters. And let's not forget the massive bigotry of every type. Just saying.

No, but as with NRA, they clearly have the ability to reinterpret in very partisan ways.

Based on what we have seen with blue shift in the recent elections, the Texas redistrict could take over "a land war in Asia" as The Classic Blunder.

Nah. I say make Iceland the guardian.

Bold of you to assume it will ever be built at all.

I wondered why this story all of a sudden disappeared from twitter.

They have reliable "intelligence." They are so arrogant they gleefully show the attacks but hide the evidence.
December 5, 2025 at 3:35 PM
Its all part of the plan by Trump and DeJoy to get this service privatized.
December 5, 2025 at 3:32 PM
Its likely Reagan wouldn't have done the bs he did to get elected in 80 and Carter would have gotten a second term.
December 5, 2025 at 1:13 PM
The worst part about this decision is they didn't actually make a ruling on the case. They simply lifted the stay invoked by the district court. They don't even have the courage to put their names on a ruling.

All true, but honestly I think the most disturbing thing I've seen from him was his role in Dusk to Dawn. He played a FAR TOO CONVINCING rapist in that movie.
December 5, 2025 at 4:57 AM
I mean, as long as you label it as "partisan gerrymandering" its all good. 👍🏻
December 5, 2025 at 4:34 AM
Of course they ignore that part. But the reality is both reasons should be grounds to strike the maps. Distracting shouldn't be done in such a way as to purposely promote or deny the voting power of any group.
