Honest opinion here: I was updating A Nose for Death to reflect winning the 2025 Best Indie Book Award for #cozymystery when I saw a review from someone who loves the series but hates the covers. Feels they are too cartoonish/not genre reflective.

Someone sent me an article about Christmas gift ideas for writers and asked what I thought. Personally, I don’t need an Oxford comma-themed coffee mug or Edgar Allan Poe socks. I just want book reviews. Spreading the word about my work is the best gift. That, and whiskey. But mostly book reviews.

The Anthropic settlement was a fun way to realize that if my ex-publishers (who also stopped paying royalties) had filed copyrights, & I had done the same when I started self-publishing, I wouldn't be out $45,000 in compensation for stolen works.
I'll be retroactively copyrighting now & forward.
