The down side of being in the multi drink club is that sometimes you go to put your drink for hydration down and your drink for fun is already in that space so you ruin a perfectly good glass of juice 🙃

Sometimes you just gotta do a little brain dump when shit goes down so here's that.

Let me make this clear: if you continue to engage with her IP in any way, you are directly contributing to attacking my community and family. There’s no excuse, if your priority is an attachment to a work of fiction over actual marginalised human communities you should reflect upon how that choice aligns with your values. Sit with it and make sure you’re comfortable taking that side. If you’re aware of the situation but keep supporting her because it doesn’t affect you, you don’t want to think about it, or it’s too hard not to go along with the status quo – just know that you’re making a conscious decision that it’s OK for this rhetoric to go unchecked. cont. Continuing to reference her work publicly perpetuates her cultural influence and power and shows our community that you won’t stand with us against hate. Yes, the world she created means a lot to people. Queer and trans people know that because many of us were right there in it with you. We had to give it up too. This is not a situation where you can ‘separate the art from the artist’. Her art actively funds bigotry. Nobody is asking you to erase it from your memory, you can still look back fondly on what it meant to you at the time while also making a choice to leave it in the past. Perhaps you will experience some melancholy feelings around that. That’s a small sacrifice to make compared to what trans people are dealing with.
