It was another great week for HOUSING KANSAS CITY as we march toward 10,000 new units of affordable and mixed income units throughout Kansas City. This week with 400 more (in just phase 1) in the Historic Northeast. We’re also including a public market and amenities for all.

Unregulated gas station drugs are marketed as legal alternatives but are often just as dangerous as controlled substances.

Frigid temperatures are ahead and Kansas City’s Extreme Weather Plan is now active. 931 beds are available across eight shelters for people experiencing homelessness.

I met today with KC2026 Transportation Director Jason Sims to preview ConnectKC26, Kansas City’s transit plan for the FIFA World Cup 2026™. With 215 buses serving 15 locations every 20 minutes and extended match-day hours, Kansas City is ready to keep fans moving.
As the KANSAS CITY SNOW TEAM clears roads, the City is focusing on snow operations. That means trash is postponed one day for everyone except Monday folks (like me). Monday trash is cancelled for this week. You can put out more next week.

Been out inspecting the streets in the 2013 sedan since about 0530am, the KANSAS CITY SNOW TEAM has hit most arterials and is making it through residential streets. Decent conditions, but please take it slow and be mindful of hills, typical slick spots, and hard-to-reach spots.

Kansas City is expecting 1-4 inches of snow today. Our crews have been out pretreating over night and are out now on 103 routes. Give them some space. Stay safe out there!
