Veejay had some nice stuff, but as a whole whelms me as a designer. But also it was cool a villain won and she’s the first trans winner but also I think Ethan had a much better run as a whole???

I think maybe a little? but ultimately kpop idol vibes are very merchandise friendly. I honestly think a big chunk is just that the visual aesthetic of kpop is widely appealing and suit friendly. big scary dragon is harder to sell than pretty girl who sings good

they seem to have confirmed a trilogy of films, with a tv show in talks. so we'll deff be getting 2 more movies at the least. what i need right now, is for them to fast track an artbook !

That’s so fair. While the visuals are astoundingly beautiful, I’m not sure it’s “groundbreaking”. Not every animated movie needs to be so it’s chill. But I agree hailing it as such for its visuals doesn’t add up. The success of its soundtrack however, is groundbreaking

might have to dm ya about htis. but i think a lot of it has to do with the fact both america and korea value a lot of the same beauty ideals. big eyes, small nose/mouth/chin. light skinned and very skinny. imo the designs really work in KDH, even if they aren't revolutionary.
