I read books and give my thoughts within a limited number of characters
Read The Way of Kings by Brando Sando. Coming offof Gardens of the Moon, this felt like a comfort read. I love Brando’s easy to understand writing style but unfortunately I’m now invested in another massively long fantasy series. Oh darn, guess I just have to keep reading… shoot. #booksky #fantasy

Read Babel by R. F. Kuang! This is my partner’s favour book and they have been waiting ages for me to read it. I am happy to report that you should, in fact, read it too! Treat yourself, to a broken heart and a vengeful spirit! #fantasy #booksly

Read Gardens of the Moon by Steven Erikson. I have never left a book equally confused and satisfied as I left this one. I see the vision, not clearly but I know it’s there somewhere and I WILL FIND IT! #booksky #fantasy

Read the last two Remembrance of Earth’s Past books by Cixin Liu. This is definitely a series that changed me at my core. I was a bit out of my depth for Death’s End science-wise but The Dark Forest will be an all timer for me, absolutely beautiful. #booksky #scifi

Unfortunately I have been too busy binge reading books to post about the books I’ve read. I think I’ll be fighting for the rest of my life to have a better reading month than I’ve had this August. Well without further adieu, it’s time to dump a bunch of posts and book thoughts #booksky

Finished The Three-Body Problem (5⭐️) by Cixen Liu, translated by @kyliu99.bsky.social. Reading this was reminiscent of my time reading 20th Century Boys and Gantz… I was thoroughly confused and couldn’t put it down #booksky

Finished Chain-Gang All-Stars (5⭐️) by Kana Kwame Adjei-Brenyah yesterday. What a terrifying all-too-conceivable “dystopian” future. Discussions of racism, exploitation, the industrial prison system and humanity’s devilish desire to put tragedies on a grand stage for capital gain. #booksky

The Devils (5⭐️) by @joeabercrombie.com was a wild journey. Chaos, hilarity, heart wrenching wisdom—this book delivers. Pains to say goodbye to such an incredible cast of characters. P.S. Mr. Joe, if you’re in need of an on-screen priest, I know a guy with a certain… aptitude for wereladies #booksky

A Song of Legends Lost (5⭐️) by @mhayinde.bsky.social was INCREDIBLE. The shear scale of the world building that was developed so naturally blew me away. The constant questioning of characters motivations, diverging and converging plot lines… 🧑‍🍳💋. Find a spot for this on your tbr ASAP #Booksky

Was in a reading slump since school got out and the summer started. A million blessings to @mhayinde.bsky.social with their FANTASTIC series entry A Song of Legends Lost (5⭐️) for getting me back into it. Also read The Devils (5⭐️) by @joeabercrombie.com. Here’s my next few on the docket! #booksky

Found an annotation by a previous reader of my copy of Royal Assassin that sent both a chill down my spine and a surge of awareness to our current global political climate. #robinhobb #booksky

Finished The Assassin’s Apprentice by Robin Hobb this week. I feel like this book combined everything I love about fantasy into one book. Unique powers, gripping politics, nail-biting thrill, all seen through the lens of a young boy just trying to survive in the thick of it. #booksky

Just finished Between Two Fires by Christopher Buehlman. This was such an incredibly immersive read. The brutality of a plague-ridden France amidst a holy war was described in horrifically vivid detail. #booksky #betweentwofires #christopherbuehlman

Finished Empire of Gold by S. A. Chakraborty just before Christmas. The brakes were left at the door with this one, what an amazing conclusion to the series! 6⭐️ certified masterwork! #empireofgold #sachakraborty

Just finished The Kingdom of Copper by S. A. Chakraborty! This book had me absolutely frustrated and punching the air in the best kind of way. #thekingdomofcopper #sachakraborty
December 16, 2024 at 9:02 PM
Finished The Will of the Many by James Islington. Wow, this book didn’t let up for a moment and shattered any sense of understanding I had in the closing chapters. Unfortunately, now I must wait a few months to get all of those new questions answered. Bravo! #thewillofthemany #jamesislington

It is with a heavy heart that I must put down Warbreaker by Brandon Sanderson. What a journey. I want more. Please lord give me more. #warbreaker #brandonsanderson #cosmere

Read Iron Widow in one sitting earlier this week. If there’s anything that’ll get me hooked from the first page, it’s high octane mech battles mixed with unhinged main characters. #ironwidow #xiranjayzhao
November 30, 2024 at 10:38 PM
Finished The City of Brass by S. A. Chakraborty earlier this week. I have so many thoughts but I don’t feel like I’ll be able to compile them until I’ve consumed the rest of the series… Therefore onto the next! #thecityofbrass #sachakraborty
November 30, 2024 at 10:22 PM
Just finished The Fury of the Gods by John Gwynne. You don’t wrap up a trilogy much more cleanly, on theme, and with as much heart as is found here. 6⭐️ certified masterwork. #johngwynne #furyofthegods
November 18, 2024 at 7:22 PM
Just finished The Hunger of the Gods by John Gwynne. What an absolute ride. The additional perspectives along with the breakneck pacing had me absolutely flying through it. Glad I waited until the third released so I can jump right into the next! #johngwynne #bloodsworn #thehungerofthegods
November 11, 2024 at 4:08 PM
Just finished The Blade Itself by Joe Abercrombie. Loved the grim humour and world building this first entry had to offer. Exited to see what perils await the cast in future installments. #thebladeitself #joeabercrombie
