After decades of wanting to set one up.

I finally got a rack mounted home network setup.

Wanted a video of blinking lights but instead I got eery audio that wasn't present when recording.

Oh well :)

Mise + Jitpack is quite powerful.

Add a jitpack.yml and you can try out your maven artifacts from maven, gradle and of course jbang.

jbang init -t setup-jitpack@maxandersen for getting the template, commit it and you can now share your maven artifacts easily without maven central.

I wanna know whoever implemented search on LinkedIn
figured that a post about eggs and bacon is the top first result to show when searching for "mandelbrot javafx" ?

And no, the results after also isn't related to javafx nor mandelbrot.

spend waaay too long on realizing that for the new maven central deploy the "token" you generate is not the token you use...there are *two* steps to do.

Step 1 is generate username and password
Step 2 is the *actual* token

My favourite Quarkus 3.20+ feature:

quarkus ext add quarkus-opentelemetry
otel-tui

start your app and now your terminal has traces, metrics and logs :)

In recent Quarkus releases devui now includes a workspace tab to browse the workspace notion recognized by devmode.

You view and ediit source and live-reload works.

Great for quick fixes in devmode.

The Java test runner in @vscode.dev has improved greatly.

Easy run of individual methods/classes and it "just works" with gradle as well as maven based projects.

Now just need to figure out if can make it work as easily with JBang ... wdyt @fbricon.bsky.social ?

I love how ideas are easy to try out with Quarkus MCP server.

~10 min later and I had this running in Claude desktop - visualization of my docker/podman containers.

200$ for a full keyboard is overkill when the only thing I need is this one touch id button.

Apple - c'mon...

not sure when this was added but github showing annotations (like test failures) on files outside edited filed on PR action jobs is awesome.

🎥 Just got recorded for an upcoming documentary about VS Code!

It was a fun experience talking about history of VS Code and how @redhatjava participated.

Here is a few behind-the-scenes shots!
