Good instinct, but those are state level laws. Federally preempting then might be worthwhile, but would not be quick or easy.

All of these always run into extremely unpalatable realization that the real reason the government is inefficient is that it’s too small, and outsources too much to profit driven firms.

But “we need to quadruple the size of the federal government at a minimum” isn’t what they want to hear.

DOGE staffers can't tell the difference.

I feel bad for not knowing, but is that normal in other (e.g. parliamentary) democracies or a product of weak mid-century American parties?
