Yeah, there are broadly two versions of "the right" which are treated as part of the same thing even though they're often incompatible: one that wants to protect things and keep them the same, another that values profit and the right to do whatever you want.

When Arctic Monkeys 1st album had just come out, was on a train in Sussex hearing a young lad try and sing with the accent - it did not go well.
I can say this because I was born in the South West but was living in the North West as a teenager when Oasis were new so probably did similar myself.
