the thing i need help with though: how do i "name" these chapters when im trying to keep the game text-free?

i think what resonates with me most is that whether or not a person makes use of difficulty options does not really change whether they "completed" a game. but the flip side to that, in Silksongs case, is that maybe the devs took a lot of pride to really craft a specific experience with difficulty

is it fair to say this game just isnt made for them? im not sure. i understand their frustration when they cant experience the parts of the game that speak to them, but i also believe that a creator doesnt necessarily owe anything to the people who want to interact with what theyve made.

i like this but i do wonder about the players who dont care about the difficulty either way - they dont care about strategizing through a difficult boss fight or finding the next health upgrade - they just appreciate the art, world, and music and want to look through it themselves. 1/2

it takes a lot of effort to really maintain a journal. i really like using git and looking back at all my past build names/comments as a very basic form of this.

good suggestion! ive tried a bunch of different task organizers but i find myself going back to sloppy old text files more than anything else. whatever works is what's best!

yes!! the blue shade looks slightly different and i dont think there was a shadow before. i didnt know there was a dark mode icon though 😈😈

this honestly describes many devices i own and it's really irritating. trying to ""turn on"" my google pixelbook from several years ago is the most random puzzle ever. hold power, tap power, hit random keys, hold power again, hit spacebar 7 times ok there we go its on

as an outsider, it's been difficult watching what HM has gone through recently, but it's really refreshing to see positive reflections like this which credit the contributions of everyone while also acknowledging it's a bittersweet day. congrats on releasing what looks like a very special game.

unfortunately 2025 is absolutely bursting with games that feel like they were made specifically for me (and for some reason I'm playing zelda echoes of wisdom right now too). so enshrouded goes in the pile of games which I am excitedly awaiting 1.0 before playing.
