Having left the city I feel okay telling it like it is. It was hard enough getting SLA to schedule the asphalt repair - doing full resurfacing would have been harder. BOE also had (and probably still) little to no capacity to design curb ramps they weren’t already doing.

Joe, I totally respect your work and arguably it’s helped move the needle on so much for walking and biking in LA. The problem is HLA was voted in as the design for this was being finished up. If the city had gone the way of full HLA compliance this probably wouldn’t be in the ground still.

They really don’t need to write about every single thing, especially when it’s like this.
