My favorite young Kennedy gaffe was when Joe III of MA hammered Markey for not visiting towns submerged in Quabbin Reservoir.

Also… aren’t the Fleming estate and the film people entirely separate these days?

(Incidentally, to tie in to classic film, one of the main beneficiaries of the estate is Celia Johnson’s daughter, since the actress was married to Fleming’s brother)

Some fans like that idea; they even considered including it in Die Another Day, IIRC.

I say just reboot because everything’s a reboot these days anyway.

Is this Rural Cemetry? If I recall correctly, it was actually on the edge of town and lived up to its name when it was built.

Literally what one of the book series is doing now! Idea is that Bond is MIA, other Double-O agents look up to him, draw inspiration from him, but also differ from him, not all being straight white men.

(Granted, everyone hated the more expensive sequel)

Soderbergh and Tony Gilroy pitched a $30m, sixties-set, b&w Bond — would love if they did something like this, alternating traditional Bond movies with lower-budget, experimental ones.

Reviewing a third of the eventual shortlist in a single column!

Thought he was too much a writer’s writer to win; pleasantly surprised.

Got good personal vibes from him at sparsely attended All That Man Is event. I believe Fiona McCrae was his first American publisher; boy could she spot authors.

Love that the second volume is labeled "Columbo: The Return."

Makes me imagine a Columbo reboot in the style of Twin Peaks: The Return.
