Sounds like your dog is a work dog - since we don’t have a farm, ours manage all tasks involving family because we apparently need help. 😄 This is a very Bouvier attitude and I’m sure that’s what made them good farm dogs. It makes them excellent family dogs too.

I believe it’s dependent on the dogs. We introduced our last kitten to our 2 bouviers who immediately fell in love. The love affair continued their whole lives.

True.

Our pups aren’t aggressive at all. They do tend to hover with our adult grandcats and I hope a kitten appreciates that more.

🥰

Doesn’t that depend on the dog?

Thanks, Vesna. My thought too.

Thanks, Holly. That was my sense. Audrey Hepburn was raised with cats and sits immediately when she sees one. Winnie does the stand with helicopter tail that our grandcats find disconcerting.

Also - I’m happy to adopt an adult cat but thought it would be easier for a kitten to adjust to 2 dogs. Thoughts?

I do have a question. We’ve had kittens with adult dogs and adult cats with puppies. Not sure about puppies with kittens- I thought I should wait till the pups both fully mature (Winnie is already 3 but Audrey Hepburn is only 2). Thoughts? And please don’t text my pups about this.

I feel like I just met two dealers trying to hook me on a lifetime habit. 🤣

Our Bouviers have always loved having their own cat. I say their ‘own’ cat because that’s the Bouvier nature. They felt they raised my children by themselves. They’re the ultimate nanny dog.

I’m so tempted to rush out and get a kitten right now!!

Thank you @drjengunter.bsky.social

This is oddly not discussed in the media and it should be. It’s dangerous.

I know, right? Very, very stupid move. The pups immediately went on a search for their new kitten…

I’m so glad your daughter is ok.

My apologies for how I wrote that - the cat was devoted to our daughter but it was our lovely dog who died of cancer .

I love Himis! We had one with our old girls and he was the master. When our girl was dying of cancer, he abandoned our daughter (who he followed everywhere) and did not leave our old girl’s side till she died.

Himalayans are the best. I’ve developed cat asthma, so I need one that’s hypoallergenic.

In Europe, trades are treated as respected professionals - it’s time we started to do that in Canada.
