Lean, Green but not very mean
Anything that involves the SWP will fail in spectacular fashion

To not realise this is extraordinary of Corbyn and Sultana

Done in 3.5 hours

Truly incredible!

No private healthcare conglomerates, or fossil fuel lobbyists?

What is the world coming to!!??
November 28, 2025 at 11:51 AM
No, I think that includes the matched funding

(So, it’s now at £90k, which means we have raised £45k, which has then been matched)

“Brexit for thee, but not for me”
November 28, 2025 at 11:33 AM
“Early Christian times” is now what the Tories aspire to.

God help all of us if these psychopaths ever get near power again
November 28, 2025 at 11:31 AM
Over £18k now, and amazingly it seems to all be in small donations -£5, £10, £25 etc

Genuine people power!
November 28, 2025 at 9:22 AM
The things I’ve mentioned can be done now with very little disruption or govt spending

But they are politically bold - something Labour are incapable of

Also, I’m in my 50s and my feet are firmly on the ground
November 27, 2025 at 12:10 PM
You have bought into some deeply misleading neoliberal talking points.

We need a govt that rejects these ideas, invests heavily in the public realm and taxes more fairly
November 27, 2025 at 7:41 AM
These are practical actions, not principles

The Labour govt simply lacks the political will to make the changes we need

Saying “oh but it’s too difficult to fix things” means they should step out of the way to make room for leaders who possess that will
November 27, 2025 at 7:40 AM
The country doesn’t have a credit card, and our public debt was certainly not ‘maxed out’

Public finances don’t have ‘holes’. Govt allocates resources as they see fit, using taxes, borrowing and public spending to allocate them

But that takes political will and an economic strategy
November 27, 2025 at 7:38 AM
They could invest big in things like insulation, public transport, active travel which have high RoI, but need upfront money

Etc etc
November 26, 2025 at 4:57 PM
They could make a start on land value tax by shifting council tax and business rates to property owners rather than residents, and have no upper limit for both

They could increase VAT on luxuries and decrease it on pubs, restaurants, venues etc
November 26, 2025 at 4:55 PM
Is that to be used as the excuse forever for not doing anything bold?

Have a few mins, so they could start shifting taxation away from low income, working people and SMEs and towards high income, wealthy, polluters and tax avoiders/evaders

Lots of people have come up with good suggestions for that
November 26, 2025 at 4:53 PM
Oh there’s so many ways. I’ll get back to you - just off to meet friends…

(Though the fact that you’re asking kinda shows that they’re not suggesting it…)
November 26, 2025 at 4:51 PM
(Or rather that Labour’s only plan is to continue to placate bond markets with more austerity and low public investment, but that’s not their plan, it’s the same as the Tories’ one)
November 26, 2025 at 4:45 PM
At best you could argue that accounted for about 3% of govt spending

But it doesn’t account for Labour’s total reluctance to make real structural change to the economy or govt

Blaming the Tories for Labour’s lack of a strategy is a v poor argument
November 26, 2025 at 4:44 PM
No they didn’t. That’s a completely arbitrary constraint that doesn’t exist in the real world
November 26, 2025 at 2:34 PM
It’s necessary for the economy to function for income to be distributed effectively from rich to poor (and from asset owners to workers)

Do they honestly believe it’s all one way?
November 26, 2025 at 11:24 AM
His own experience (as described in the article) is that an increase in minimum wage has accompanied an increase in his company’s profits

Cutting benefits reduces the spending power of his customers. Does he understand this??
