TL;DR - they need to treat it more like early access and less like a 1.0 release and fix underlying issues like the control scheme (both the design and the technical issues), how long, slow-paced and dull combos are, etc.

People actively playing the game complain about balance but the bigger problem is the people who either quickly bounce off the game or never try it. Fixing the lack of characters and single player content is hard but fixing the systems doesn't seem that hard if they commit to it.

I'm down on the game but it's very fixable. But they have to a) recognize that it needs fixing b) acknowledge that it needs fixing and c) fix it. Each of these steps is hard for a variety of reasons and they're stuck on the first step. Now is the time, before console release.

Once you notice this pattern (that if you have a white-sounding name you can avoid getting dinged) it's impossible to take the discourse seriously. The same people writing "Dark Souls needs an easy mode" pieces are writing opinions defending the difficulty of Getting Over It - it's all fake.

The engine on NES feels so advanced with like full physics-based air juggling and such. You'd figure the gimmicks would be more like the second level where you repel down ropes while still fighting, and not like...jumping on moving snakes...

I can't imagine doing levels like the snakes with 2 people.

(I mean I could just run it and see but I mean...other than that)

This very weird comic was based on a model named Alley Baggett lol

Almost all the good feedback comes from posts like "I don't play a lot of fighting games but I tried this out and here's what I think" because those people aren't watching "personalities", they're deriving their views from their own experience.

On the 2XKO subreddit the dominant opinion is just a repeat of the most recent video from a big content creator. Major issues rarely get mentioned because they don't appear in videos, while people obsess over minor issues because a youtuber made a screaming face thumbnail about it.

Where does that crocodile guy at 20 seconds come from? I worked on something that also used that as a temp model and had no idea where it orginated.

(Good luck on your job search if still looking)
