Heading back to Cologne from a very inspiring #ESA #LPS25 in Vienna on an ÖBB Nightjet. Really enjoyed the time I spent and chats I had with all the people I met. What was again the reason for flying?

2 weeks of #COMPEX-EC #EarthCARE validation with #Polar5 in Kiruna are over. We had 7 successful research flights with amazing data collected with our R&S suite. Stay tuned to see what we find when we dig into data.🧪 #remotesensing @unicologne.bsky.social @unileipzig.bsky.social @awi.de @esa.int
COMPEX-EC team in front of our work horse the Polar 5 from AWI @ Kiruna airport. EarthCARE cloud radar level 1 (top), MiRAC-A 94 GHz from Polar 5 (middle), and 89 GHz passive channel from MiRAC-A all along the joined flight section. Dashed line shoes the direct match seen as strong reflection in EarthCARE Ze caused by Polar 5.
