I currently have an entire theater to myself for TMNT 35th Anniversary.

I agree with @meganhunt.bsky.social and ask @unlincoln.bsky.social to immediately & publicly denounce the illegal & inhumane use of “Cornhusker”.

The University should immediately and publicly denounce the use of their name. Cornhusker should never be associated with incarceration, cruelty, or state-sanctioned violence. The University of Nebraska has built its reputation around the name Cornhusker, a symbol of pride, community, and the hardworking spirit of our state. It belongs to the people of Nebraska, not to ICE, not to Governor Pillen, and certainly not to a detention facility designed to separate families and harm our immigrant neighbors. Thousands of Husker students, alumni, and supporters-across political lines-do not endorse this facility. The University has the legal and moral standing to enforce its trademark and to protect the integrity of its name. To remain silent is to allow Nebraska's most cherished identity to be co-opted for purposes that betray our values.

The very specific type blocks I acquired to remind me not to get into letterpress may have come from a place of flawed logic.
My two wooden letterpress type blocks (an “N” and an “O”) sit in a little steel blue tray on a table. They are gorgeous sirens telling me to cash in my 401k so I can lease commercial space to house them and their many, many friends. But we must ignore them.
