I could not believe my eyes when I found this lad (it's actually a lady) on the porch this morning. It's an "Unarmed Stick Insect" (Acanthoxyla inermis). They come from New Zealand and some have made South Kerry their home.

Novavax is going to be available in Ireland in two weeks, for anyone interested in receiving it instead of Pfizer just call the HSE to register.
They may say it's not the most up to date version, but it is, JN.1, they are comparing it to mRNA versions.

1. Please read the article (linked in the next post). What galls me is that there is nothing 'astonishing' about this; it was absolutely predictable. The reasons are multi-factorial, but low uptake of flu and Covid vaccines (and very tight eligibility for the latter) are a large part of the problem.
