Put pretty things in your feed.

Something you like.

Cats, cars, naked people, food porn, landscapes, birds.

Find folks who don’t talk about the state of the world (or who mix it up with other stuff).

Remind yourself that fun exists, that Joy persists.

You can’t fix everything.
Not trying to armchair diagnose or anything, but a whole lot of people who are constantly screaming at other people about Causes on social media exhibit A LOT of behaviors that would make me put them on moral injury burnout leave if they were T&S agents I was managing
I am frankly not much use to anyone - friends, family, anyone I might use what resources I have to help - if I am constantly living in a black hole of despair

and neither, I think, is anyone else

This Muppet inspired by a rag rug is a *shark*?! Truly the world is full of wonder.
The Tasselled Wobbegong is a master of disguise that can eat a fish almost as big as itself in one gulp. It's classified as a shark, but when it lays on the sea floor it looks like a harmless rug if you manage to see it. But with powerful jaws and sharp teeth they are no fish to mess with.

imagine if he was the frontman and you had to say it in a different order

imagine if we had all been saying it “John, Ringo, George, and Paul”

that would just FEEL wrong

“John, Paul, George and Ringo” is like the “Duck Duck Goose” of bands. the final thing can be different, that’s fine

We just heard Martian thunder for the first time, captured by NASA’s Perseverance rover! 🔴⚡🧪

As a dust devil twisted across the Martian surface, tiny grains of dust collided and built up static electricity. That charge was released in small bursts, creating what scientists call Martian lightning.

Had a dream that I saw Wake Up Dead Man and was delighted to discover that the film hinged completely on the antics of a troublemaking goose named Chrumbo. "That Chrumbo's gonna be a star," I said.

They warned me that the seasoned firewood I bought was "a bit wet from getting rained on in piles, stack it for a couple weeks before burning". I don't have a moisture meter but I'm starting to think what they meant was semi-seasoned. It's making heat but it hisses and the air has more PM than usual

Republicans have tanked the economy and turned the country into a corrupt autocracy. But my NPR-loving neighbor has been giving me a hard time about my gas-powered leaf blower. I've never felt more politically homeless.

As my spouse is lighting the tree I am reminded of the very unintuitive relationship between depth of fill of a martini glass and volume.

this piece by @jpbrammer.bsky.social on the 2026 Pantone color of the year is so hilarious and also slightly depressing that it makes me sad 90% of my followers (an estimate: hi folks) are bots because I want to tell the world. The USPS posting a NINE BILLION DOLLAR LOSS!!! sounds terrible. Certainly worse than if you said "USPS costs thirty dollars per person per year" even though that means the same thing and more accurately describes a government service

"Hello, I'm here to order a Robotic Partner."

"Ah, welcome. Please fill in this form."

"Sure, for body options and features, right? Let's see... One of those, definitely. Hm. What's this 'Do you expect to be obeyed?' For that money, of course I do!"

"Then we cannot help you. We only do partners."

A quick tip: AI is notably bad at menorahs.

I apparently let one posted image slip through without ALT text this year and I'm trying to think how hard it would be to find out which and put something in a reply if I didn't already.

Game described as challenging art using nudity in a similar manner to prestige TV gets banned from storefronts that permit pornography. With only the vaguest of explanations and no response to requests for clarification.

I know nothing else about the game but this situation is familiar.
Yesterday, the Epic Games Store decided at the last minute not to distribute the game, after having previously approved a release build. HORSES is otherwise now available on GOG, Itch, and Humble for $4.99. www.horses.wtf

An easy way to explain luddites:

Textile manufacturers brought in machines that could do in an hour what would have taken 12 hours by hand.

And then, tried to keep paying the now 12x more productive workers the same wages as before.

That's it, that was the problem luddites had. Not complex.
