Good day to you

Rtd economist more concerned with political economy as the less than great synthesis.
Would Alistair Cooke have returned to the UK by now, if he was still very much alive?

"At its sharpest stage." Hope this is an understanding Russia is in the balance. If so, let more be done. Let Europe, in spite of Trump and the GOP, make a concerted effort not to be intimidated by civil/military dislocation of their societies by Russian attacks. Act now, prevent more damage later.

You got me there - where it hurts. After 20 mins though I felt relief, as if I could go out flying against fascists, anywhere.

To atomise society via self-interest instead of community values. To turn religion from equality (NT) to Old Testament fixed, authoritative structures. The Gini, social mobility, declined under the GOP. Culture wars are a deflection & means which corporations, elites appropriate Federal fin capital.

theft/greed is reflected in economic data you need a scapegoat to shift attention from corporations in your pocket to The Left or Woke. Hence a cultural focus justifies a whole socio-economic schema (a la neoliberalism) to restructure society into a while male, authoritarian, rigid, hierarchy

But that in itself is an outcome. Sought after by neoliberal think tanks, corporations and corporate elites. You need a widely held reason and a process to expropriate the American people (64% of federal funds come from Y and social security taxation, only 6% corporate taxation.) Bc corporate

A biased narrative at the heart of American life. Innocent are perpetrators, deserving of no pity. Where 'woke' became a term of deserving destruction, whole swathes of people threatened, blamed by the RW/Corporate/GOP appropriation machine for injustices beyond their ken. Kirk died by his own hand.

You made me think of a wholly AI endogenous economy. The inflation rate would be astounding or at equilibrium? Resource allocation debilitating for humans, and in the end what are its self-protecting levers. When function equates to purpose.

Just another reason why Australian life is advantageous to its members sitting somewhere between the USA and the EU. It even entered popular culture back in the 80's. youtu.be/Ofrqm6-LCqs?...

The ALP's main policy goal - for itself - is to replace the LNP as Australia's centrist party. It is not about to go and do anything a RW orientated MSM can use to undermine that intent. The Voice referendum provided all the incentive and understanding the ALP needed about where it needed to stand.

What makes you believe merely the scale of socio-economic immiseration will be sufficient to redress corporatism? When 64% of the US pop face a rentier model. Corp: think tanks will ensure a new scapegoat. 45 yrs since the Reagan/Thatcher axis and the scale of corporate state capture has only grown.

"...he wanted a deal..." then why did Trump at the end of his first term unilaterally rescind the previous 'deal'? Why did he rip up a deal existent?
