I make art, sleep & curate exhibitions. I spend a lot of time thinking about the Arctic.

I didn't know it was the 9 year anniversary of the death of my Grandma today, but my cells did. I picked flowers and herbs from the #carparkgarden and put them in a tiny jug that belonged to her. I have cried twice today and I didn't know why, now I do.

Went to Norway, to Oslo airport, Bodø, Fleinvær, Tromsø and home to the UK via the Aurora. The best view the whole time I was there was from the plane window, above the clouds and the sea. Just crossed the bridge into Cornwall, not long now until I see my cat and start my numerous new plans.

Had a bit of a rubbish day today in terms of pain and brain health. I finally left my cocoon when one of my fellow Arctic Hideaway residents knocked on the door to let me know there was curry and northern lights. The whole sky was glowing green and you could see the wave change shape as it went.

I arrived at the guesthouse I'm staying in in Bodø, and was pleased to see the stern face of polar explorer Nansen staring at me when I got into my room. I feel that this could potentially be a good omen, or maybe they just come free with every 10 sets of bedsheets you buy.

Well, this would've made getting to Bodø a whole lot easier. Thanks Easyjet for only just announcing it.

I made a post about St. Piran's day and then I closed the app before it had uploaded so now I'm grumpy and don't want to rewrite how he arrived in Cornwall on a millstone, lived to be 200 and died by falling down a well (possibly while drunk).

What going away looks like for me. I don't normally put it all into freezer bags, but after the time I ended up having to ration my tablets for 2 weeks because some had got lost en route I'm being extra careful to make sure I have it all. I've even decanted what I need for travel day & made notes!

These were the first spicy potatoes I've been able to find since I lived in Weston-super-Mare. There was a shop opposite the Odeon that sold them & from the age of 17 I would eat them when I'd been to the cinema, or on the way back to my bedsit after one too many £1 pints.

I've made a google photo album with all the b/w photos of Svalbard that I'm offering as A4 prints in my crowdfunder-let me know if you want the link and I'll send it to you- there's 9 days left, £73 to go to reach my stretch goal and loads of photos for £20 each!

I waited for this moment since my sister started having kids- a one line text from my eldest niece, 'Do you believe in the owl man'. Is it too soon to sign her up for a subscription to Fortean Times? How do I break it to her that I don't believe? But I want to believe. The hoot is out there.

Don't think I'm going to be doing much more posting about my crowdfunder as I've already gone over my initial target & it feels kinda creepy asking people for money when things are so hard right now. I made a poster & then discovered that I had hit my target so here it is anyway.

And by 'break me' I mean I have multiple chronic health conditions that mean I experience severe fatigue and pain, as well as all the joys bipolar brings. My plan to manage this all is to ensure I have adequate accommodation & transport so I am able to get as much good quality rest as possible.

Neen trying to tread the fine line between annoying people by constantly asking them to pledge to my crowdfunder & not letting people know at all. The reason I'm running it is to cover additional costs that arise from having disabilities that break me www.crowdfunder.co.uk/p/art-in-the...

A clear night in Penryn tonight, and the discovery of a mysterious glowing S.

You can find the link here: www.crowdfunder.co.uk/p/art-in-the... or in my bio. I'm raising money to cover extra costs, including needing to book extra nights accommodation either end of the flights to make sure I don't get too fatigued. It's taken me til now to factor things like that into plans.

I finally processed some of the photos I took when I was in Svalbard in 2023. I'm going to be offering prints of some of them as rewards in my crowdfunder. I haven't updated it yet but they will be £20 for an a4 photographic print on matt paper. I'm raising £ towards the Arctic Hideaway residency

Oops, logged myself out for a bit. Managed to get back in again. Here's a cat photo to make up for it.

Fourth thing I hate pasties. I have lived in Cornwall for 14 years but the smell of a pasty makes me feel sick. I have to keep this to myself, other than when I share it with the internet. I don't trust food you can't see inside of before you bite into.
January 27, 2025 at 10:40 PM
Second thing I dislike. Actually a thing I hate. Fruit scones. Why, in a world where both plain and cheese scones exist, would you eat a fruit scone?
January 27, 2025 at 10:26 PM
Controversial 1st dislike- penguins. I think they are very overrated.

I collect 'doubles' I'd be over the moon to find these treasures.

You just reminded me of something! In plain view on my kitchen noticeboard. 40+ years later.

Jumping in here as I enter my second hour sat in the bath, but first bath for at least 2 weeks. Starting 2025 as I mean to go on- soggy and full of doughnuts. #MadSkyChat. Here's my Luna...

My, very newly, 5 year old niece drew me a dinosaur (Stegosaurus perhaps-the teeth looking things are on the back) and a snake. The snake was called apple and the dinosaur was called snowball. She LOVES drawing dinosaurs and perhaps the best drawing she ever did was of a dinosaur being sick.

Pretty much this.
