Opossums are one of the most beneficial animals on the planet. They Do Not Carry Rabies. They eat just about anything from dead animals to fruit and veg you didn’t get to. They get along with cats. Here’s a picture of Penelope Pete who visits my porch with the Feral cats

Here’s Lucy McGillicatty and Ricky Ricardo Montalban. Ricky (the big guy) woke me doing his Tigger impersonation on my stomach, then jumped out at me from behind the shower curtain. He thinks he’s invisible behind my ruined shears. I suspect their home-brewed catnip tea is at work here. 🥰

I live a 5 minute walk from downtown, and my porch has a nightly procession of semi-feral cats who are very well fed and cared for, their friend who is the cutest opossum, followed by the fattest gang of TPs (trash pandas) who make a raucous mess before they leave

My uncle lied about his age to go into the Army, and my grandmother attested to it. My dad volunteered for the Navy. He was in the worst of the South Pacific. My dad’s Navy picture. It’s so sad their generation is almost gone, so they can’t be speaking out now.
