I shared some numbers last week, though the 85k tiktok views have grown into 223k by now 😅

bsky.app/profile/mali...

If you wanna take a look, it's @TheManeQuest on Tiktok, and @thoglistudios on Insta
That's about 250k views on twitter, about 85k views on tiktok, 44k views on insta and another 5k on reddit yesterday. I don't know how much is coming from where though because so far I could not be arsed to put utm tracking anywhere 🙈

bsky is more for networking and industry folks for me, I don't think I've reached a lot of players here yet, and the days where I only post on bsky aren't anywhere near as noticeable in the graph.

Tiktok and IG Reels have been super effective lately, and I had a really good post on Twitter too.

this was absolutely infuriating to read and I am so sorry everyone failed in protecting you from this bad faith bullshit. Sending love and support ❤❤❤

that too, yeah! Posting in communities who might also be interested in your thing (as long as you're on topic, not breaking rules etc etc) is just good practice generally, but I think finding those people by topic/content and not just by "similar games"is underused!

so like yes, build it and they will come, but when it comes to building online communities, "building it" means being an active model community member yourself instead of expecting others to just come in with content

that place has almost 40k subscribers now and I barely post anymore, but it would not have gotten there if I hadn't very actively shitposted my butt off for years 😇

Same for /r/gameswithhorses, which gets a few posts per day now. Before that it was years of me monologuing to 10 upvotes per post.

I had to toss out a juvenile Nosferatu spider this morning (so Kiano wouldn't try to eat it and risk a bite in his mouth) and noticed that I've gotten *significantly* less squeamish about spiders since I have cats that eat them, even when it comes to the ones that they can't eat.

that's lovely to hear, thank you! There's definitely horse game news that I don't cover, but it's often the more niche stuff that people outside the community don't hear about anyway. And I do try to be timely whenever there's big news, like AAA game announcements with horses ^^

I never really felt like any of my horse game community building was particularly algorithm-friendly, apart from the one time one of my posts went ultra viral. It's a lot more about communities looking sort of active (i.e. having posts from the past week/month) whenever someone new finds them
